About

Whoever said employee benefits compliance can’t be fun was pretty much exactly right. But that doesn't stop the bold and more than modestly deranged ERISA experts from Lockton Benefits Compliance Services division from throwing all caution to the wind and attempting to make plain the intricacies of employee benefits while laughing through it all.

Edward Fensholt, JD - Host
Ed is not only the fearful leader of this podcast, he is also the director of Compliance Services for Lockton Benefits. He has more than 30 years of experience as an attorney and more than 25 years concentrating in the area of ERISA and other aspects of employee benefits law … which he says ensures his place on the local cocktail party circuit. Ed knows a little bit about a lot of things but one subject he knows a lot about is employee benefits compliance issues, specifically the ACA, tax code, HIPAA, COBRA and ERISA with respect to health and other fringe benefit plans. Just don't ask him about his cats, unless you have 30 minutes to review cat photos on his phone.

Scott Behrens, JD - Co-host
In addition to being Ed's number one, Scott is the director of the Government Relations practice for Lockton. He brings more than a decade of legal experience to the table and has extensive expertise in compliance with ERISA and other key employee benefits laws, including the ACA. Scott spends much of his time with legislators and regulators to encourage support of employer-provided benefits. He brings critical experience in public policy and politics to the role having worked for a former chairman of the Committee on the Budget for the US House of Representatives.
